Curd-cheese biscuits from my grandmother: quick, no long kneading, and rather good for you.

Ingredients

  • curd cheese – 330 g
  • butter – 100 g
  • salt – a pinch
  • vanilla sugar – 10 g
  • plain flour – 230 g
  • baking powder – 1 tsp
  • sugar – 100 g
  • egg for brushing – 1 pc

Method

  1. Step 1

    Pour the melted butter into the curd cheese and mix well. Add salt and baking powder.

  2. Step 2

    Work in the flour gradually to a firm dough.

  3. Step 3

    Wrap in cling film or a bag and chill for 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    Roll into a square, scattering sugar and pressing it in with the rolling pin, about 3–4 mm thick.

  5. Step 5

    Roll up into a sausage and cut into 1 cm slices. Set on a tray and brush with beaten egg.

  6. Step 6

    Bake at 180°C for 15–20 minutes. Check with a skewer; ovens vary. Enjoy.

  7. Step 7

    Place on a baking tray.

  8. Step 8

    Brush the top with beaten egg.

  9. Step 9

    Bake in preheated temperature to 180 ℃ for 15-20 minutes. Check readiness with a skewer. Baking time will depend on your oven. Bon appetit!
