Ingredients

  • For the meatballs:
  • mince – 0.5 kg
  • onion – 1 pc
  • egg – 1 pc
  • cooked rice – 0.75 glasses
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dried basil
  • sunflower oil for frying
  • For the side:
  • onion – 2 pcs
  • carrot – 1 pc
  • pepper – 2 pcs
  • tomato sauce – 300 g

Method

  1. Step 1

Salt Pepper Dried basil Sunflower oil for frying For garnish: Onion – 2 pcs. Carrots – 1 pc. Bell pepper – 2 pcs. Tomato sauce – 300 g

  2. Step 2

Tender meatballs in sweet and sour tomato sauce with vegetables can serve as an independent dish, and will also be a wonderful addition to any porridge, pasta or puree.

  3. Step 3

I like to make minced meat myself rather than using store-bought stuff, but you can use that too. For minced meat, I took 500 g of pork, 1 onion and passed everything through a meat grinder. Beat in 1 egg, add boiled rice, salt and ground black pepper to taste, a pinch of basil or Provençal herbs.

  4. Step 4

Mix everything well and form small balls. We bread the meatballs in flour and lightly fry them on both sides in sunflower oil in a heated frying pan. The crust should be light golden. Place the fried meatballs in a deep heat-resistant container.

  5. Step 5

Cooking vegetables. Cut the onion and pepper into cubes, carrots into small pieces. Fry the onion in a frying pan, add carrots to it and fry, at the end add pepper and cook until done. Place the vegetables in the pan with the meatballs.

  6. Step 6

Pour tomato sauce on top - you can take it ready-made, or you can make it yourself. For the sauce we will need homemade tomato, half a tablespoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of salt, a quarter of a teaspoon of ground black pepper, and half a teaspoon of paprika. Place in the oven for 30 minutes at 180°.
