Ingredients

  • salted herring – 1 pc
  • jacket potatoes – 2 pcs
  • onion – 1 pc
  • green apple – 1 pc
  • eggs – 4 pcs
  • cheese – 100 g
  • lemon juice
  • mayonnaise – 200 g

Method

  1. Step 1

    Lemon juice Mayonnaise – 200 g

  2. Step 2

Do you love herring, but are traditional herring under a fur coat already boring? I recommend trying the new herring salad under a white coat. Another layered salad with herring will be a godsend for fish lovers.

  3. Step 3

First, let's prepare all the ingredients. Medium-salted herring should be boned and the fillet cut into cubes. Boil the potatoes in their skins and peel them. Pickle the onion. I usually use vinegar, some water, sunflower oil, a pinch of salt and sugar for the marinade.

  4. Step 4

Peel the green apple and remove the center. Boil eggs hard.

  5. Step 5

We will lay the salad in layers. Lubricate each layer on top with mayonnaise. For salads, I prepare delicious homemade mayonnaise in 5 minutes. His recipe can be found here.

  6. Step 6

Grate potatoes onto the bottom of a dish or plate using a coarse grater and coat with mayonnaise.

  7. Step 7

Place diced herring fillets on top. Lubricate with mayonnaise.

  8. Step 8

Place a layer of pickled onions, grate the apple on top and lightly sprinkle with lemon juice. Lubricate with mayonnaise.

  9. Step 9

Grate the eggs onto a coarse grater. Lubricate with mayonnaise.

  10. Step 10

The final layer will be cheese. You can grate it on a fine grater - it will look more impressive. There is no need to lubricate it with mayonnaise.

  11. Step 11

It is better to leave the finished salad in the refrigerator to soak for 2 hours. Remove from the refrigerator and serve.
