Ingredients

  • strawberries – 2 kg
  • sugar – 1.6 kg

Method

  1. Step 1

Wash the strawberries by completely immersing them in water. Those. We take water into a large container, pour strawberries into it and rinse them thoroughly in water. It is better to wash the strawberries with the tails, and then pick them off directly when we put them in the pan. This way the berry will not be saturated with excess liquid and will retain its taste. Place the washed strawberries in a sieve to drain.

  2. Step 2

We tear off the tails from each berry and place them in an enamel pan. Separately, measure 1 kg 600 g of sugar into a container. When a third of the berries are in the saucepan, pour a third of sugar on top, then add another third of the berries and sugar, then the rest of the berries and sprinkle sugar on top.

  3. Step 3

Cover the top with a towel. Let's not interfere! Leave it like this until the berries release juice. I did it during the day and left it until the morning.

  4. Step 4

We will cook in several stages. In the morning, put on fire and bring to a boil. Foam will rise - stir gently with a wooden spatula. As soon as it boils, turn off the heat and leave the jam until the evening.

  5. Step 5

In the evening, bring to a boil again and turn off. We leave it until the morning. In the morning we put it on the fire again until it boils. We're filming.

  6. Step 6

In the evening, bring to a boil, pour into pre-washed and dried jars and roll up the lids.

  7. Step 7

From 2 kg of strawberries and 1.6 kg of sugar I got 5 half-liter jars of jam. I immediately turn the jars upside down, put them on the lids and leave them until they cool completely.
