The tray is already out — and the oven gloves are still warm from the handle, damp from steam. Easy to drop them in the drawer “for later”: by morning the fabric is wet, the oven smell sits in the padding, and the hand climbs into a cold clammy mitt. I shake the gloves, hang them on the oven handle or a hook and let them dry — so the next tray is taken with a dry edge, not stewed cotton.

After the oven I hang the gloves dry, not in a damp drawer. Preheating the oven is another note; the fan when pale its own; a veg tray another story. Here it’s the gloves themselves: dry, in sight — not a wet clump among the cloths.

If I have already washed them — only a full air-dry, not overnight in a shut drawer. Steam from a boiling kettle nearby does not dry them — I move them aside. I’m not shopping for a new pair with a review in this note — it’s about the ones that already lifted today’s tray.

I don’t need gloves that stew in the drawer all night. I need a dry mitt I’m not ashamed to take a hot edge with. At yours do oven gloves hang dry after the oven — or already in the morning stick to the hand from the drawer?
